Real Men Charities, Inc., the presenting nonprofit of Real Men Cook, has a garden at 70th and Princeton, called Eat to Live Garden. This is a project shared with Angelic Organic Learning Center and the Center for UrbanTransformation that includes a plan for an Urban Farm in the adjacent location. You are invited to come out to the garden on September 29th as we host children (and the community) who worked the garden for summer camp and studied the garden in our Real Men, Building Healthy Kids and Strengthening Families program, serving 500 children up nutrition, fitness and healthy cooking education for the past six months, thanks to funding by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, we have changed the behavior and attitudes of 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders toward healthier eating, lifestyles and REAL MEN! The mantra our guys have given the children in EVERYTHING GOOD GROWS IN ENGLEWOOD! Thanks to Darryl Pitts, Chef Donald Tiller, Willie Scott and Rael Jackson for their leadership and to the men of Omega and their Friendship Foundation for support.
