2008 RMC-Detroit Team is searching for Cooks, Volunteers For Fun & Excitement

Detroit, MI – (February 28, 2008) –The DMC Advertising World Wide and Crush Media Group will host the Real Men Cook-Detroit kick-off event on Thursday, March 13, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Morning News Café in Downtown Detroit’s Penobscot Building (lower level), 645 Griswold, 48226. The event is free, open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

Crush Media Group has joined the Real Men Cook Detroit team and will manage events and promotions leading up to the National Father’s Day Celebration, Sunday, June 15, 2008.

Past, present and future chefs, cooks, supporters and volunteers are invited to the networking event to share their experiences and ideas for the 2008 Father’s Celebration.

Last year’s cooks will be back again this year to serve the community a taste of their favorite dishes. These men are calling out to other men in the community who love to cook to step up and help them represent brotherhood, family and community at the national celebration.

“It’s a wholesome family event that brings out a sense of pride in the chefs and cooks who cook, as well as the men, women and children who come to the event to taste our dishes, said Frank Blackman, of the Morning News Café.

Cooks, chefs ages 18 to 118, and restaurants may sign up online [realmencook.com] to prepare, cook and serve their dishes to the community at the 8th Annual Father’s Day Celebration. The men prep, cook and serve the food on Father’s Day to the public.

With a mission to build families and provide the opportunity for non-profits to raise money from event ticket sales, Real Men Cook® For Charity mobilizes and spotlights hundreds of men in urban communities across the country that are willing to donate their time and resources to cook and serve samples of their favorite dishes on Father's Day. Event tickets ($20, adult; $10, child) will be on sale and available in late April.

In addition to Real Men Cook®-Detroit, simultaneously, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago (the founding city), Dallas, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Ohio and New York men will be serving up family fun.
